When to Go

The temperature in Medellin is pleasant year round, but visitors here between the months of April and November may get a chance to experience one of the city's famous torrential downpours. A few annual events make for a perfect vacation experience. In December, the city glows with millions of Christmas lights during El Alumbrado. In midsummer (late July-early August) the Flower Festival is held, a colorful celebration of the area's crop featuring flower displays and a traditional parade of growers.
