Spring brings full bloom to Taiwan’s expansive cherry blossoms, winter brings forth several popular Taiwanese festivals, while summer has the warmest days and more beach activity. It is fall (October-November) however, that is often considered the most ideal time of year. Fall brings mild weather, a low chance of rain, beautiful fall foliage, and fewer tourists. If traveling for festivals, look to the months of January – March for the most celebrated. Some of Taiwan’s most popular festivals are its Chinese New Year (January – February), The Pingxi Lantern Festival, and Taiwan Lantern Festival (February – early March).
