Meet and greet at San José International Airport. After you have picked up your luggage and clear customs you will be transferred to your San José hotel.

Day Two - La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs
You will travel the Pan American highway and stop in the famous town of Sarchí, with international fame. Then travel on passing diverse plantations and cattle ranches until you stop for a cozy lunch in La Fortuna. Later, you will enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike of approximately 1 ½ hours along the base of this marvelous wonder of nature. Day Four - Monteverde
Continue your journey at the Monteverde Cloud Forest known for its biological reserve. Monteverde protects a large variety of endanger species, including amphibians, mammals, and birds. On a spectacular drive of approximately 3 hours, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Arenal Lake and the northern plains of Costa Rica. Your guide will be teaching you the importance of each habitat and the history of each town passed. Relax for the evening or take an optional activity: canopy tour, sky walk, frog pond or butterfly farm.

Day Five - Santa Elena School
Today features tours from the students of the technical school of Monteverde. Choose one from three options: Farm Tour where you will learn how to milk a cow! Reforesting Tour where you can contribute to the conservation of our environment by planting a tree. Cooking class where you will learn how to make typical Costa Rican food such as tortillas, gallo pinto, patacones, sweet plantain, banana ceviche, biscochos, prestiños, picadillos, coffee and “agua dulce”.

Day Six - Travel to Guanacaste

Day Seven - El Viejo Wetlands Cultural Experience
Hacienda El Viejo is surrounded by sugarcane crops and the most important river in the Blue Zone of Costa Rica, Rio Tempisque. Start the tour with a cultural tasting at the “Trapiche” (mill) where you will sample pure sugar cane and how the juice is extracted. Move to “La Casa de Sabanero” to taste “tanelas”, “empanaditas” and “rosquillas”. Before leaving learn how to make tortillas! After your food tasting you will move over to the Rum Experience by Sabandí. Learn everything there is to know about the rum making process and end your day sampling a delicious rum cocktail.
